Flint Culture is an international consultancy focused on cultural communications and strategy. They help shape cultural stories. To embody their role, we helped them creating a clean, structured and multilingual visual identity that works across regions and platforms.
The visual direction began to take shape from the original identity motif, the flint stone which evolved into a clean and structured system. The sharp and tilted angles of the flint gave the wordmark a sense of motion and precision, while the dot on the “i” was transformed into a flint stone, preserving a piece of the original identity. We then emphasized the tilted angle by using it across the whole system, guiding typography, colours, applications and other design choices, giving the identity a confident and forward-moving feel.
With a clear visual system built in, we let imagery take the lead to reflect impactful cultural and regional moments. The colours are flexible, inspired by people, landscapes, and local surroundings. A simple set of icons came together from the flint-stone dot and was employed in many ways. With a thoughtful printing material choices and a serving digital applications the whole identity started to come up together, creating an identity that is connected, meaningful and reflective.
